How to play Ludo
Roll a six to bring a token out of the yard. Move clockwise around the track, then up your own home lane; an exact roll is needed to finish. A six gives another roll, but three consecutive sixes end your turn. Landing on a rival sends it back to the yard except on the eight safe squares. Tokens can share squares; this version has no blockades or capture bonus rolls. Bring all four tokens home first to win. Online dice are rolled by the server.
Online rooms wait for all players. Everyone must agree to a rematch. Leaving or disconnecting clears that online board.
Choose which token needs the roll
A six can bring a token out of the yard, but moving a token already on the track may be more useful. Compare the available landings before choosing. Safe squares protect a token from capture; landing on an unprotected rival sends it back to the yard. Spreading your tokens gives you more possible moves on later rolls, while advancing one token quickly can secure an early finish.
Plan for the home lane
A token needs an exact roll to reach its final home position. Near the end, keeping several tokens moving gives you more ways to use a small roll. This version allows tokens to share squares without forming blockades and does not award an extra roll for a capture. A six awards another roll, but a third consecutive six ends the turn. In online games the server rolls the dice, and every player must agree before a rematch begins.
Questions players ask
- Does capturing give another roll?
- No. A six gives another roll; a capture does not. Three consecutive sixes end the turn.
- Can two tokens block a square?
- No. Tokens may share squares, but this version has no blockades.
- Can I finish with a roll larger than I need?
- No. Reaching the final home position requires the exact roll. Choose another legal token when possible.
